Reviews sell books.

It’s that simple. And a lack of reviews actually harms sales.

That is why I need reviews for my book Vampire Crusader: the Immortal Knight Chronicles Book 1 and that is why I am giving it away, for free, in return for a fair and honest review.

If you don’t want to sign up by email and get the book, email me at dandaviswrites@outlook.com and I’ll send you link to download the format of your choice.

If you have already read the book, I would very much appreciate you stopping by Amazon.com to leave even a short review of it. Be honest, I do not need five stars for it to be valuable.

Why do I need reviews?

Reviews are critical in helping to launch new books and getting attention for existing ones. After a great cover, review scores and the numbers of reviews a book has create the first impression for prospective readers. And the first impression counts when someone is deciding whether or not to buy.

Reviews create “social proof” that other people have read and enjoyed the book you are considering buying. Even if a book is free, you are investing your time with reading it. A large number of reviews, whether they are 3, 4 or 5 stars, helps to take the risk out of a purchase of an unknown author.

Considering only about 1% – 5% of readers leave a review, they are pure gold, especially to someone starting out with their author career.

In short, your review will help me to get noticed and to sell more books.

Post your review on Amazon.com and/or Goodreads or your favourite book selling site like Barnes & Noble or iBooks or your book review blog.

Thank you!

  • A very very good first read for me.I am very impressed and I look forward as rd to the release of vampire outlaw. 5 Stars
  • When the author approached me about his book and told me it was historical fiction, I jumped right one it, historical fiction is one of my favorite genres…and then I saw the title when ordering the book and was tempted to walk away the word ‘vampire,’ came across and I was like, oh hell no!
I’ve had enough of these bloodsucking characters to last a lifetime. But I made a promise and when I make a promise, I keep it.
So I read it…and just like that I was hooked. These weren’t the glamorous vampires that we are so use to reading about in books now-a-days, these were ruthless, blood-sucking parasites and I loved it.
The author did a wonderful job of masterfully creating characters that were true to the era and the writing was so excellent and the plot was so gripping, I found myself, turning page after page. Definitely a good read and I would recommend it to everyone. 4 Stars
  • I love historical fiction and author, Dan Davis didn’t let me down. His book, ‘Vampire Crusader’, kept me on the edge of my seat. I felt like I was right there in the action.
The plot was good, with plenty of action, deceit, and the coming of truth. There were plenty of twists and turns. The characters are strong and sometimes surprise the reader.
I highly recommend this book to history and vampire lovers!
I was provided with a free pdf copy, from the author, in exchange for an honest review. 5 Stars
  • This is one of the more interesting vampire stories I’ve had the chance of experiencing. Usually vampires are seen in a demonic light, especially if set in the past, but this flips it on its head. The powers that the reader knows to be vampiric are seen as Christlike and holy by some of the characters. I liked this a lot. It felt realistic, just like the setting. Being a history buff, I enjoyed how real it felt.
On the subject of the powers, I liked how they were handled in the novel. Vampirism is more of a regenerative and strength based power set than something with a lot of cliche aspects. It is simpler, and how blood is used is very slick in its application. Streamlined. The way the author made the vampires and their need for blood and their bloods uses was excellent. Interesting to read and it is a good plot device of sorts.
Plot was solid. Revenge story and all. Kind of guessed tragedy would strike again and again. The main character has a lot of death and horror thrown at him but mostly remains stoic. His narration conveys his terse and bare perspective on life. He isn’t flowery or that expressive with his emotions. I had problem with this in the beginning, as I thought it was just iffy writing, but then I realized that it being first point of view, it fits the characters personality.
I have two main complaints. The first is a pet peeve of mine. I much prefer double quotes for dialogue than single quotes. It makes it easier to read, at least for me. Doesn’t really matter that much, but it comes to mind.
The other issue is pacing. I wanted to keep reading, but there were parts that dragged on a bit. That is my most major gripe.
I liked this novel. I enjoyed reading it. Recommend for history and vampire enthusiasts because it integrates both sublimely. 5 Stars
