Dan Davis Headshot 2016

About Dan

I write science-fiction, fantasy and historical fiction stories that are full of exciting action, captivating characters and intriguing themes.

I always loved reading more than anything and I grew up writing stories but became dedicated to publishing in late 2014. My main interests outside of writing are history and science, especially ancient history and astronomy and biology.

I live with my wife and children in Essex, UK. I fit my writing around a day job but I am working hard to become a full time author. I have so many stories to tell. Thank you for your support.

About my books:

The GALACTIC ARENA series is humanity taking its first steps into the network of galactic civilizations. But we must fight for access to every star system by human vs alien combat inside the Orb Stations. Lots of action, spaceships and awesome human vs alien fighting.

The IMMORTAL KNIGHT CHRONICLES is an epic and gruesome tale of vampires and vengeance. This is historical fiction - with vampires! It is brutal and bloody. The series spans 800 years so there is plenty of story left to write.

I also write GUNPOWDER & ALCHEMY, a historical fantasy novel series for all ages set during the English Civil War. Four young friends and their dragon vs the Roundheads and the Cavaliers. Featuring magic, muskets, dragons and steam-powered tanks, this is a gunpowder fantasy steampunk adventure.

I'd love to hear from you so please get in touch by email at dandaviswrites@outlook.com. And please come find me on Twitter and Facebook.

  12. More books to add to my TBR pile!!

    • Dan Davis says:

I know, Traci, there are so many great books I have on my Kindle ready to go. I will get stuck in very soon. No more re-reading Bernard Cornwell books for the 5th time… probably…

  13. Rodney says:

I’ve read the Gunpowder and Alchemy series and enjoyed it. But a few mistakes and only one that caused confusion when Weaver was mentioned and it should have be writer. All told I went through these books fast. Didn’t want to wait to see what happened next. Fun read and will there be a Fourth book?

    • Dan Davis says:

I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for telling me about the character error – the books are proofread but errors always sneak through. I will have them all redone when the fourth book is finished. The fourth book will be out this year and will wrap up the series. The main character this time will be Keeper. I have had relatively little interest in Gupowder & Alchemy so have been focusing on my 2 other series instead. The last book will be called Red Fires Raging. Thank you so much for telling me you read and enjoyed them so far, it makes me look forward to writing the next one all the more.

  14. Rodney says:

When will the next Immortal Knight book come out?

    • Dan Davis says:

It will be the next book I write and it will be out in the summer (as early as possible). Vampire Khan will take place during the Mongol sack of Baghdad in 1258. I have written 4 scifi books since Vampire Outlaw and I have had Vampire Khan planned for almost a year now so it will be fantastic to finally write it.

  15. Mrs C M Ellis says:

Just read Vampire Crusader about to start Vampire Outlaw, really enjoying the idea of history and vampires together, they are both my favourite genres. I note you hope to have the third book out this summer hope that is still happening. I have to know how many are you planning for the series, as it covers eight hundred years I assume there will be quite a few, looking forward to them. Happy writing!

    • Dan Davis says:

Hello, thank you for your comment. I am very happy to hear you enjoyed Vampire Crusader. In my opinion, Vampire Outlaw is even better with more depth and it’s twice as long so I hope you like it. The third book will be out late summer. I am indeed planning quite a few novels – coming up will be the Hundred Years War and the Black Death, the golden age of piracy, the Napoleonic Wars and World War 2. Eventually! As soon as I can transition to writing full time, I will be able to release a novel every couple of months. I can’t wait to write them, I have had much of the stories in mind for a decade now. Thanks again and if you could find time to leave a short review on Amazon on one or both books it would help me out enormously.
