THUNDERER: GODS OF BRONZE 2
A bloodthirsty immortal leads his dark army against the Godborn and his band of allies.
A corrupt god demands blood sacrifice from his people and the young warrior Herkuhlos journeys to the west to save them.
But a far greater danger lurks amongst the stone circles of this strange new land that will take more than his immortal strength to overcome.
Only one figure from legend can unite the clans and defeat the evil that is devouring this land.
First he was the Godborn.

I finished Godborn and almost totally loved it. The Audible was a treat to listen to. The action was so fun and the story and history was mostly expert.
I purchased the books too for reference. I like to see the place names and character names to help me understand it all better.
After reading tons of nonfiction like Anthony and anything Indo-European or prehistoric, and listening to Patrick Wyman’s excellent series on Wondery, it’s fascinating to hear a well-crafted story to make it alive.
The one aspect I missed was a less heteronormative perspective. There were female perspective sections and I felt they were very well done, especially highlighting the gender role structure.
Much have been complained about in the Disneyfication of Heracles, ignoring his bisexuality and here’s another example. I think I have a professional-level gaydar and hardly remember as little as lingering handshake between the dudes.
Ancient mythology and ancient society is full of what we’d call gay sex or bisexuality. From historical accuracy alone, it’s absence is not just incorrect but seems purposefully omitted. Heterosexual recreation is certainly not missing.
I’m looking forward to reading Thunderer and some understanding or suggestions on other prehistoric fiction.
Thanks for reading!
