Paper Cranes published a lovely review of White Wind Rising: Gunpowder & Alchemy Book 1 today:

This book kept me company this past weekend while I was feeling under the weather, and I must say it was a really good companion. White Wind Rising is the first book in the Gunpowder and Alchemy series, an interesting coming-of-age historical fantasy set during an alternative history of 17^th Century Civil War England. This was definitely a book I would have appreciated reading when I was around middle school age—the original target audience for the series—but even now in college I still enjoyed the book.

I was really pleased that the reviewer really “got” the characters and especially how they are looking forward to the next book in the series.
