Green Earth Shaking Cover

She may be able to control the very earth under her feet but Weaver must find her place in the world. Is she destined to be a soldier, galloping with the regiment of horse against the King’s Cavaliers? Or is she a revolutionary, one of the Diggers, who want nothing but peace and prosperity for all?

Weaver’s choice will decide England’s future.

If you’re thinking, “Well, this sounds pretty amazing but it’s the third book in a series that I haven’t started.” do not despair because Book 1 is available for free on Smashwords and other places.

What sort of things are in this series, then?

You will get fantasy stuff like magic spells, dragons, an alternative history of Europe shaped by the megalomaniacal Alchemist’s Guild. You’ll get steampunky stuff like steam-powered armoured tanks, balloon flight, flintlock rifles, mechanical brass arms and automata powered by vials filled with summoned demon entities (this sort of thing gets called “Gunpowder Fantasy”).

The setting is an alternative 17th Century, Civil War England where the people are struggling to throw off the yoke of the tyrannical Alchemist’s Guild. You get powerful, everlasting friendship, coming of age journeys. You get to read interweaving narratives from the four young heroes as they learn about themselves, each other and the world at large.

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry. You’ll wonder if it’s suitable for children and you’ll decide that it is if they are ten and over and they enjoy books like His Dark Materials.

So don’t hang about, get it right now.
